FINALS WEEK

Praise the Lord! It’s finals week!Newman-Center-fall-2009-0231.jpg

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2

Patrick and his burnt finger

Patrick and his burnt finger

We are open ALL day and ALL night, ALL WEEK!!! We are here to serve you! Come for lunch, dinner, a quiet place to study, a place to pray, a place to have good conversation or to even watch Patrick burn his finger on a candle (yes, it is true…that acutally happened this morning…and he says it still hurts). What is it with college students being pyros? Isn’t it funny how we are naturally drawn to the curiosity of Light? After all, it is what we were created for…for God and God alone! I am not endorsing pyro behavior, but maybe there is a connection…

A Prayer for Finals Week
Now I lay me down to study
I pray the Lord I won’t go nutty,
I can’t remember all this junk
So please dear Lord don’t let me funk.
Now I lay be down to rest
I pray I’ll pass tomorrow’s test.
If I should die before I wake–
That’s one less test I’ll have to take.
AMEN.

Our LAST MASS of the semester is this THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17th 9:30pm. Come for some time of Adoration and an opportunity to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 8:30 (hurry, there’s only a week before JesusPC030210.JPG comes and the greatest gift we can give Him is a clean heart for Him to rest His head on…I don’t know about you but I don’t know if I would be quick to put my own head on a dirty diaper of sin!) So come on over, it’s FREE, it’s HOT, everyone’s doing it…WE LOVE CONFESSION!!!!
