Way to go Kendal!!!! Standing up for TRUTH at UW Oshkosh!

Would you consider yourself a “Busy Person”? Would you like to find a way to get rid of your “Busyness”? Well, I hate to break it to you, but life is not going to get less busy, whether you are a full-time student, a mother of seven, a priest or monster truck driver, let’s face it…life is BUSY! What it really boils down to is how we use our time during the course of a busy day.
Have you ever thought about how many minutes there are in a full day??? Lots…and lots of minutes! But we often find ourselves saying…I’m too busy to pray. I’m just too busy for God right now in my life. I’ll do that another day, when I’m less busy. Well, today is your day my friend!!!! No need to take time off of school or work to go to some far away retreat! The Busy Person’s Retreat is offered right here at the Newman Center, November 2-5.

A few week ago, I had the honor of going up to Baileys Harbor, WI on retreat with the Newman Center. I was expecting the retreat to be dull and just full of prayer. I was mistaken! This retreat opened my eyes to really see what it means to live for the Lord. I had a great time and met some awesome people living for the Lord. I had the opportunity to meet an awesome priest. He wasn’t your 60 year old parish-running , stereotypical priest. This one had fire. He had an excitement about God that was contagious. It made everyone get excited about a life devoted to God. After this retreat, I know that my heart was changed for the better.
As a transfer student, I was eager to meet people and wanted to deepen my faith with God so I went looking for a group that did just that. The Newman Center was where I have found that perfect balance of friends and the ability to further my relationship with God. Some mornings I come for morning prayer, I come for adoration and Mass on Thursdays and Sundays, Men’s small group on Tuesdays, Wednesdays to 4 Pillars to learn more about being Catholic. The Newman Center has given me many opportunities to grow further in my faith and this is only the beginning…the beginning of a new life lived for God, of Absolute Truth! What can I say? God is where it’s at and you can find Him at the Newman Center!
